Just about any book there is that does well is made into a audiobook. If you are interested in it, it comes in audio form.
I can recommend good narrators, because the narrator makes the audiobook. Jim Dale is fantastic, Rob Ellis is good, and Grover Gardner is good, too.
Do you know about LibriVox? It's a website with free, legal audiobooks. Nearly every book that is in the public domain is there; Jane Austen, Dumas, Chopin, there are hundreds to choose from and they are easy to access. Happy listening.

You can find all kinds of books available on audio - action, adventure, classics, sci-fi, fantasy, horror, mysteries and thrillers as well as biographies, self-help and other non-fiction. I would recommend that you visit your local library. Most libraries have an audio book collection available. You can check through that for titles/authors that you like.
Without really knowing what you like, I would recommend the following:
Harry Potter series - even if you have already read the books, the performance by Jim Dale is one of the best performances I have heard on an audio book.
Dean Koontz (mainly thrillers): Odd Thomas series, Watchers, The Husband, The Good Guy
James Patterson (mysteries/thrillers): Alex Cross series, Women's Murder Club series, Maximum ride series, The Quickie
Clive Cussler (action/adventure): Dirk Pitt series, NUMA Files series
Douglas Preston/Lincoln Child (mystery/thriller): Pendergast series
Patricia Cornwell (mystery): Kay Scarpetta series
Terry Pratchett (fantasy): Discworld series
I have listened to all of these books on tape and the performances for the most part are quite good and entertaining.

A really cool free website that I use all the time is YAKiToMe! (http://www.yakitome.com)./ It takes any electronic text and turns it into an audio book automatically. They have readers for multiple languages and both male and female voices with different accents. You control reading speed and pronunciation. It's stupid-simple to use. Check it out.

you should try the robert b. parker spencer series. they are great. nora roberts red lily, black rose, blue dalia, these 3 are on a cd set called the garden you will love them., but just about any thing by nora roberts is good. the haryy potter series on cd is good as well. i also heard rhett butler's people on cd it was good as well. if you don't like any of these go to your local library an pull up some of your favorite authors and go from there. sometimes you can get an idea of other books or authors from the back of other books.

Stephen Kings are always unabridged. I would recommend always listening to unabridged.
