The Mexican friend needs to apply for a B2 tourist visa. The process is the same for anyone in any country. It is VERY difficult to get a tourist visa to the U.S. now. Most applications are denied. The U.S. embassy plainly states that they presume everyone who applies is going to violate their visa and NOT return to their home country when they are supposed to. So...the BIG deal is to have all kinds of proof that you will return...have a home, family, business, money n the bank. He can go to the site below, read all instructions, fill out the forms, print them out, get documents togther, and follow directions to call and make an appointment at the embassy in Mexico City or any of the consulates in Mexico. Through EXPERIENCE and experiences of friends I can tell you the Embassy in Mexico City should be the LAST choice of a place to go for an interview appointment. The best places are Monterrey and Guadalajara. If this person is wanting to IMMIGRATE to the U.S....that is simply not going to happen...unless he has immediate family who are citizens in the U.S. and can apply for a family visa for him. Mexican citizens are not currently eligible to apply for immigration through the immigration lottery program.
