Has your dog ever gotten the 'boot' from a groomers?

Has a groomer ever had to send your dog back un-finished? What was their reason?

What breed was/is your dog?

What is/was your dogs name?

Just curious about how many dogs are uninvited to be groomed, and why?

Update:

Schatzi...what's your dog's name?

Update 2:

Mandi..What's the most common breed/mix you have to send out? and the most common name/s? if you remember

Update 3:

I AM a groomer, and always get the dogs that all of the other groomers in and around my area Can't do. I just wondered if it was just my area? or if it's a common thing in other areas for groomers to refuse dogs.

I've never sent a dog home unfinished. Even nails :o)

Update 4:

Hi Schatzi...Just asked for the names because their seems to be a pattern between the names people give and the behavior. Not because of the names of course,,,but the type of owners who name their dogs certain things, seem to be the same owners that can't brush their own dogs without getting bitten and such. And these are usually the dogs that end up being driven past 4 other groomers from two towns away to come to me, because no one else can/will groom them. Not looking for a particular name or anything, just the types of names.

Mine has been sent back with her nails not done. She is freakishly strong, and needs an experienced groomer to deal with nail trimming. She is a rott/shar pei mix, and can be clipped by experienced groomers, but is apparently a challenge. Oh well, I tip well for a good job.

Ummmm...why do you need her name? It's Mrs. Roper. Yep. Mrs. Roper!

    Hello,

I have had both of my dogs sent back from a groomer.

My dogs names are Toby and Ladybug. They are wiener dogs 20lbs and 10lbs respectfully. The groomer called and told me to come get my crazy dogs... I thought to myself...hmmmm....... My dogs are very well behaved and I think that I trust their instinct better than mine just to prove my point I went and picked them up. They could not even get them to come out of the holding cage they were in to bring them out to me... They asked me to go into the back and get them since they were soooooo bad of dogs. I went back into the holding area and the minute they saw me they started whining and crying out loud... I thought hmmmmm.... again...... I opened the doors and they came out no problem.... They asked me if I wanted or needed a choke leash. I said no. Both do not need it and walk very well with out one... Then a strange thing happened. A groomer walked towards me... a young woman.. (there were several other groomers there) and both my dogs turned into the demon from heck.... I calmed them down and gave the command to sit and stay... Which they did and I called another groomer to where I was standing the pups wagged their tails and looked happy to meet the other guy....

I am almost sure that the young woman did something not right to my dogs and they knew it too.

What is funny is that I take them to another groomer and there has never been any other problems. Remember my dogs are 16 years old and never had a problem with behavior at a groomer before.... until that one time...

From working at a doggie daycamp for almost 4 years which also has a grooming salon, Ive seen any smaller dogs to big dogs not being able to be finished. Groomers try very VERY hard to get the dog finished. Even if it takes 4 employees to hold the dog, they try their hardest.

No I have never had that happen but I have never taken my dog back to a groomer. There are some really bad ones out there. But there are great ones too. If this groomer sent her/him back unfinished then they aren't very good at what they do. Hope you didn't have to pay. I'd get my money back if you did. My dog is a wheaton terrier. She's a cupcake.

I have an 8 year old bullmastiff who is a big baby. He goes everywhere for nail trims, ear cleaning, baths etc and everyone loves him. He is not at all agressive, just a big lug who it a litte hard to move because he weighs in at 120.

Well the only thing he does is try to get down to the floor and lay if he wants to be left alone. I dropped him off the one day at Petsmarts where I was taking him until they didnt dry his ears right and he would get chronic ear infections after, but figured I would give them another chance at giving him a bath. well. I came to pick him up and they told me he was not doing what he was supposed to and he did not cooperate so theycould not bath him again. I took him to petco the next time and just dropped him off not mentioning petsmarts. I came back to pick him up and asked how he was. They said he was an angel, he did everything right and just very easy to wash and clip his nails. Petsmarts lied about my dogs behavior so we dont go there anymore. to me, they do not deserve our businees. If he was the aggressive sort or historically ever didnt cooperate, I would have been ok with it but I know him and his temperment better than any and they frankly lied.

Please think of approximately all the domestic canines in shelters once you're buying issues for yours. maybe you could desire to donate a number of their previous toys or purchase some toys to donate to an area rescue group. have exciting! upload: it is fantastic, thank you to pass! i grew to become into looking at Oprah the different day and it is magnificent how many families have had to surrender their pets in this recession. So unhappy, i'm happy you're contributing and assisting with those animals. we choose greater people such as you.
