How can I get the red out of my dyed blonde hair?

I dyed my hair but because it naturally has a lot of red in it, it didn't come out the nice ash blonde color on the box. It's a bright gold color with too much red...yuck! HOw can I get the red out?

First off, don't use box dyes because the developer in them are not strong enough for blonde colors. Go to a real beauty supply, such as Sally Beauty, and buy a green (ash) based dye to counteract the red/orange. Since you used a permanent dye, you should just try a toner to take out the red, and prevent futher damage.

  • I had the same problem happen to me. The only way to get the red out of your hair is to buy a bleaching kit. You simply do the bleaching kit (and don't be scared when you see the result of it, you will look like an albino) and then buy the color dye that you want your hair to be and dye it. You can bleach and re-dye your hair in the same day. They do it in the salon all the time, and I have done it many times. The results will be exactly what you want, I SWEAR :)

    Hellow,

My suggestion is for you to apply one of these colors:

7.12 Medium Blond Pearl (Ash Violet Medium Blonde)

8.12 Light Blond Pearl (Ash Violet Light Blonde)

9.12 Extra Light Blon Pearl (Ash Violet Extra Light Blonde)

Choose the one that corresponds to the intensity level you first applied (match the first digit) and use the same vol. peroxyde.

    My final advice:

visit your hair color specialist who would make the best formula according to your hair color diagnostic.

    Good luck and Best Regards.

ooh, you're in a tricky situation. I would talk to your hair stylist, or whoever cuts your hair. Just don't dye it any other color for now, you're hair will be at its roots and very damaged.
