Who will give up less hits per inning tomorrow?

James Shields vs. the Orioles or Jon Lester vs. the A's

What are your predictions for each pitcher. Shields has a 1 hitter and a 2 hitter this year. Lester had no hitter last start.

i will say that Shields will have less hits per inning tomorrow. He will be pitching against a sluggish Baltimore Orioles team that has their moments offensively, but tomorrow will not be one of those days. I expect Shields to limit them to 5 hits in the entire game. Lester will pitch well but while TB will be at home in their game...Boston will not. The record on the road does not favor Boston, so Lester may have trouble with the A's tomorrow and give up about 8 or more hits, but could still get the win. So I am in favor of starting Shields, when it comes to allowing least amount of hits per inning. RR

i say shields will give up less hits, with lester pitching against the a's there will be high expectations for him because of the fact he just pitched a no hitter while shields is more established and will probably get the win because of good run support, and plus, he's playing against the orioles...

dont count on lester to have a second game in a row. almost always the game after a no hitter or almost no hitter the pitcher gets hit around some look at gavin floyd earlier this year took a no-no into the 9th and i dont think he got out of the 4th inning his next start.

also look at who they are facing the orloles are free falling and they only have 2 tough outs in markakis and roberts speed. the A's are hitting the ball well lately and i think they are at the top of the al west

Source(s): hope you listened lester was not terrible but sheilds was top shelf getting the win and going deep in the game 8 h in 8 ip. lester gave up 7 hits in 5 ip taking the loss

Well, being a Red Sox fan, I'm tempted to say Jon Lester...

But I think it'll be James Shields.
