hey guys just thought i would warn you about something i heard about EASY JET. basically a mate of mine booked some flights online, it was all paid for and a confirmation print out had the right dates on and everything. but when the tickets arrived it had the wrong date on, my mate rang them up to complain and was told that there was nothing that could be done and that each person had to pay £60 to get the dates changed. he even went to a travel agent who told him last year EASY JET made something like 1.7 MILLION solely on these mistakes.
SO DO NOT USE EASY JET TO BOOK FLIGHTS ONLINE!

As one other said, there is something not right here.
easyJet to my knowlegde, have never in their entire history, issued paper tickets, and certainly not for the last 5 years or so.
You book your own flights online, and the confirmation print out is what you travel with .. there are no tickets issued.
Either easyJet have changed the flights after your friend has booked them, or your friend booked the wrong dates themselves. If easyJet made the change, then the print out would substantiate the claim and the airline would need to rectify the problem. They would usually only make a change in advance for schedule changes, but they would generally notify you in advance, and offer the option to cancel with 100% refund if the alternative wasn't suitable.
As for the agent saying about the 1.7 million, I am not aware of easyJet publishing the profit made from amendment fees, I can see no mention of these in their annual report... http://www.easyjet.com/common/img/annual_report_ac...
There is definitely more to this story... If you friend has been mucked up by easyJet, then he should not be penalised. However, I have very little time for those who make a mistake and then try to blame anyone else but themselves.

I fly with easyjet regularly and have never been issued with a ticket. You get an email confirmation as soon as you book online with them. I normally print this off and take it to the airport. I would normally just hand over my passport if using the airport check-in. I only bring the print-out in case of any problems and so far after about 40 flights, I've never had to produce it. I can only assume that the friend of the person who asked this question (made this statement) booked it through a travel agent and the travel agent made the mistake.

I am confused. Easy Jet do not send you tickets, it is a ticketless airline. You print & take confirmation slip to the airport where you are issued boarding pass. Your mate says the confirmation slip had the right dates, so I cant see the problem. I fail to see how this could possibly happen. You can not book a flight with Easy Jet any other way except on line, so in effect you are saying no one should fly Easy Jet...! We are frequent flyers with Easy Jet , and have never had a problem.

I wouldn't fly with Easyjet if I was paid to, I have seen what their mistakes have cost some of my friends over the years.

So blame them eh!!!
An airline that offers you good value for money and enables me to take my family abroad ....cos pre them cost was out of the question with the likes of ba !!
So what about checking the date first then printing a copy ....
Time to look in the mirror before blaming someone else
