Volvo V70 T5 CAT question?

I have a 1998 255 HP V70 T5 with an automatic box 144,000 miles. Lambda light came on yesterday and stayed on. Car ran fine (rear section is Jetex exhaust 1 yr old) - today the light is off and the car running the same - no missing, gas consumption is okay. It is going in for a check on Thursday but meantime if anyone else has experienced such a situation I would appreciate guidance. thanks

This lambda light is actually a warning that there is a code somewhere in the emmissions system. It can be triggered by the O2 sensor or a vaccum leak or even if the gas cap was not properly replaced one time.

Even if you have the light on if the car is driving ok then dont worry about it.

When the car goes in for a check ask them to check the light but to let you know what it is before doing the work.

Asked hubby (he has one) and he says its related to moisture in the exhaust system - but you will pay through the nose taking it into Volvo dealers! He has a disk which he can reset all the silly warning lights - not sure where he got it though!
