Scientific notation has one place to the left of the decimal and the exponent on the 10 tells how many places to move the decimal and what direction.
1) 9.500 x 10^3
2) 3.12720 x 10^8
3) 1.12 x 10^-6
4) multiply 4 and 15 and the powers of 10 (2 + -6)
60 x 10^-4 = 6.0 x 10^-3
5) divide 1.035 and 8.2 and the powers of 10 (-3 - 3)
0.1262195 x 10^-6 = 1.262195 x 10^-7
6) 25 billion = 2.5 x 10^10
270 million = 2.7 x 10^8
2.5 x 10^10 * 2.7 x 10^8 = 6.75 x 10^18

Scientific notation is expressing numbers in the for a x10^b. "a" being a number, (^ being a power) and "b" being a power number. A can only be a number between 1 and 10. So your answers are :
1) 9.5 x10^3
2) 3.1272 x10^8
3) 1.12 x10^10
These ones are slighty harder. By being in a bracket means you times the numbers together and / means divide before you notate.
Also when you multiply powers you add the powers and multiple the numbers. I will leave the rest to you because i do not want to do it all for you. Heres a hint for 4 - (The powers add so its 8 and 15 times 4 and theres your answer) :P
Hope i helped.

ok. that's incredibly common. i'm going to show the 1st one. 5600 a million) placed a decimal in the back of the huge form. So it could be 5600. 2) flow the decimal even if many places to get it between the 1st and 2nd digits. So for this reason we moved it three times to get it to 5.six hundred. the right option? 3) Now get rid of the zeros. So it could be 5.6 4) And write x10 - so it could be 5.6 x 10 5) Now write down the form of cases you moved the decimal above the ten. So it could be 5.6x10^3

1) 9.5 x 10^3
2) 3.1272 x 10^8
3) 1.12 x 10^-5
The next ones I'm not completely sure about...
4) 6 x 10^4
5) dont know
6) 6.75 x 10^17

9.5 x 10^3
3.1272 x 10^9
1.12 x 10^ -6
60x10^-4 = 6x10^-3
1.035/8.2 = 1.2622 x 10^-1
25x10^9 x 270x10^6 = 6.75 x 10^18

1. 9.5*10^3
2. 3.1272*10^8
3. -11,200,000,000 (i think)
4. (400)(-15000000)=-6000000000
5. -126219.51219
6 6.75*10^18
