F***in' Syrup....?
So i was just eating pancakes a minute ago, right....and I noticed they kinda tasted funny to me. the syrup tasted like it was low fat or diet syrup or some s***.
well apprantly, the syrup expired about 3 years ago. So i go to take some pepto, and yeah...that expired as well.
Long story short, my mom moved back to louisiana, and left me her condo in cali...2 years ago. I never did an inventory of the place, didnt throw out old foods and meds.
So am I gonna die or something? And I'm just curious, are there some foods you can eat even tho they are expired, and not get sick or die?
Just in case, I'm gonna PM my myspace log in info to one of my contacts so they can let everyone know the bad syrup took me out

I probably wouldn't worry too much. I'd guess the worse that can happen to syrup that's 3 years out of date is maybe a bit of fermentation. Expiry dates are a massive load of crap, possibly the biggest load of crap in the world ever- we are animals at the end of the day and shouldn't need much more than a sense of smell to tell if something can actually be eaten or not. The dates are only there to give the manufacturer or vendor something to fall back on in the event of some dumbass eating ham 2 months out of date and almost dying of salmonella. Having said that, a lot of people couldn't feed themselves without mcdonald's so maybe some people do need telling that the world is round. I really wouldn't worry about it- you know your body and if you feel iller than you really think you should do, see your doctor. Live on the edge- ignore the expiry dates!

Expiration Dates
Jellies, Jams 12 months
Syrups 12 months
Mixes Krusteaz 24 months (pancake mix)
You won't die but the thought of eating something old might not make you feel so good. You'll be fine just don't think about it the most that will happen is you will have upset stomach.
hope this helps. good luck.

I do not think you are going to have any issues at all. It is not a dairy or meat product, it is a sugar product with preservatives. It should be fine, but like you had said it will taste off.
If you are really concerned, just drink lots of water. You just may have an easier time of going to the bathroom ;)

Actually just don't eat any expired pancake mix. There are verified cases of people dying from that.

no....You are not going to die. The only reason they have a expirey date is so that when the food tastes bad u cant sue them.
