where can i go to upgrade my mac? mac os x?
after about a month of having my mac i was already sick of it, they dont live up to the hype. ive tried downloading dozens of programs and barely any if none, worked. it seems as if with macs programs they only work for whatever mac they were made for like leopard or tiger ect.. ive tried downloading programs that run on older macs on my newer mac and it just doesnt work! I dont like to critize mac users/fans but i actually own one and working on my dads old Emachine with windows xp was ALOT easier. Is there anywhere i can go to upgrade my mac and make it simply BETTER overall than it is now for $100-$200? i dont have any money to buy a new computer and selling this one wont get me alot of money. (its a g4 by the way) if anyone whos experienced with macs and knows how they work wants to talk to me and help me out with downloading programs and running them and what not cuz maybe its my fault and i just dont know how to do it. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO IM ME: marko833521. just leave your SN.

I know what you mean. I am a mac user of 18 years (for my work as a graphic designer) and more recently a PC user. Macs only like mac programs and still today I have problems with using one in regards to availability and compatability of programs. Basically, the world favours PC and there are so many more programs out there for them. The blessing is there are less virusis. I had a G4 up until a few months ago, but was forced to upgrade as all the new programs from youtube, to browsers to loading pages with particular scripts could not be read by my system. I did however download a whole new system on it which was a few hundred megabytes. In the end a friend did it for me at his work. Go to the mac site for more information. Currently I also have Applecare which costs me initially $300 but I can call and troubleshoot with them anytime. I also have contacted various mac forums searching for information on problems I encountered. It is however an older machine that you have purchased so I'm afraid you will always be limited. this is how they get you. You are forced to upgrade so that you can use the latest software. If i was you I would use your mac as a secondary resource. Unless you are in the creative industry, stick to PC - cheaper, easier, etc.

$29 gets you the entire OS. $179 is for Snow Leopard, iWork and iLife. This is what Apple formally calls for, however you'll be able to break out with the $29 variant they usually may not get irritated or any of that nonsense. Honestly, it isn't valued at torrenting seeing that of the hazard of having an inflamed dossier and/or fines/prison time. Seriously although, $29 is not anything for an OS. Think approximately persons who paid $2000 for a PC in 2007 and now have to get Windows 7 to repair Vista errors and ought to pay over $two hundred for an OS improve.

Sorry, but you can't do that. However, you can put Windows XP or windows Vista on it for that price (using a XP/Vista disk and Boot Camp), and have Windows on your mac hardware.
EDIT: -Oops, i thought you had a macbook for some reason...
For free, you can put Linux on it, and run Windows programs on WINE.
