Best way to care for a burn so it won't scar?
I have a two inch burn on my forearm from my oven. It's pink around the edges and has blistered. It's been about 36 hours since I burned it. I've been putting salve on it but that's about it. What can I do to minimize the chance of scarring? It's in a very noticeable place, especially with short sleeve weather here.

Just don't pick at it. I recently got a burn from steamed veggies on my forearm. It took a while for it to go away....I have the slightest scar now....it isn't visible unless someone knew to look for it. Keep putting the salve on it.

Chica, I have over ten scars. Four are on my head, five on my stomach, and three are on my chest. I also have them on my knees, hands, feet, and a burn on my wrist. Every guy I have met so far thinks they're cool. One guy, in South Carolina, thought they were gross, so I dumped him. I am chubby, so my scars show when I wear a tankini. I just try and deal with the looks, and stay away from the guys that think they are gross. Personally, I think you are a strong person, like me. So just take my advice, flaunt them, and if people say stuff, ignore them! I went to tenth grade, with staples in my head, and didn't wear a bandana or anything. Sure, people made fun, but I walked with my head held high. Just show some courage, and the sky's the limit. You'll find Mr. Right someday.

i am sorry to have to inform you, but there may not be any way for a 2 inch burn NOT to scar. Think if you will of branding ( cattle). The mark is burned into the skin because it stays forever.
You mentioned blistering, which sounds like a second degree burn, obviously pretty bad. I suggest going to the pharmacy and talking with the pharmacist, but i know you can try something called mederma.
Did you get the salve from a dr ? I know that there is good medicated cream for burns, it keeps the skin cool and heals.
good luck
