Has anyone had this problem? Pain in right side and back worse when lying down.?

I know the best way to get an accurate medical diagnosis is to see the doctor but my doctor can't figure out what is wrong so I am hoping someone on here has had this problem. I have an extremely bad pain in my right side. It is in my lower back and into my right hip. It is by far the worst when I lay down and after I get up, it gets better when I move around. Sitting too long, especially if I recline can also cause extreme pain. I am on viocodin and motrin 800. The pain is so bad I have peed myself a couple of times trying to get up to get to the bathroom, and I have been woken up by the pain and had to take more vicodins in the middle of the night to get back to sleep. My doctor ordered xrays, an ultrasound, and blood tests to try and see what is wrong but I am just in so much pain I need answers now, not in 6 weeks when she has me coming back.

Update:

I went to urgent care they did a urinalisys it is not a kidney stone, or a urinary tract infection. And in my experience the er doctors tend to just suggest you go to your primary care physician the next day.

Can you go to an ER? You shouldn't have to wait 6 weeks. :/

Take a look at this site - http://www.itzarion.com/pain-symptoms-chart.html It lists a bunch of causes of abdominal pain.

I know appendicitis causes intense pain in your right side but hopefully they already checked you for that. Maybe it's a kidney problem? I'd go to the ER if I were you.

    I hope you feel better!

eta: could it be a muscle problem? Maybe try a hot water bottle (if you're sure it's not appendicitis). Or it could be your gallbladder. Obviously I'm not a doctor...I'd suggest going to the ER because it's better than nothing.

Trust me, you don't want any when you are older either! The good news is you don't need to be in pain any longer. Your pains are caused by pinched muscles in your back. When you lay on your side or back it is putting enough pressure on the tight muscles to pinch them to cause the pain. You can get rid of the pain by freeing up the muscles in your back so they can't be pinched any more. Here's how to free them up: Back: (do from a sitting position) Place your left hand on your left leg next to your body. Place your right hand over your left shoulder, fingers over the back and the palm in the front and firmly pull down on them and hold. After 30 seconds slowly lower your body forward and to the outside of your left leg, keeping your left arm fairly straight as you do. When you reach your lap remain there for another 10 seconds, release the pressure but rest there for another 30 seconds. Then reverse your hand positions and do your right side. For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.

Yes indeed. I have these episodes every day if I make the mistake of lying on my right side. My legs won t move , my ribs dig into my gut and feel as if they are touching my hip. I often have to have getting. And yes, I have to wear Depends to avoid accidents. In a couple of days, I am having injections of steroids into my spine to see if this helps. If not, I don t know what I will do next.
