4 - 8*(-2-6t)*t = -1
This will eventually take the form of a quadratic equation, which is
a*t^2 + b*t + c = 0
First step:
Add 1 to both sides to make the right side zero.
(4 - 8*(-2-6t)*t)+1 = (-1)+1
so now
5 - 8*(-2-6t)*t = 0
Second step:
Distribute the 8 and the t into the parentheses:
5 - (-2*8*t - 6t*8*t) = 0
so now,
5 + 16t + 48t^2 = 0
Third step:
Solve the quadratic equation, which is
48t^2+16t+5=0
there will be TWO answers for t, because there is a t^2 in the equation.
Use the Quadratic Formula to solve. The quadratic formula is:
t = (-b +/- sqrt(b^2 - 4ac))/(2a)

You fill t in as -1 with parentheses( i am sorry i don't know how to spell that.) So you have
4-8[-2-6(-1)] You multiply -6 and -1 to get positive 6. 4-8(-2-6) -2-6 would be -8. 4-8 is -4. so then you have -4(-8)Then you just multiply to get positive 32.
