Home-made fries healthier? Than fast food or frozen bagged fries you put in your oven?
I love fries! But I was wondering HOW MUCH healthier it would be to make my own fries (by cutting up potatos and baking them) as opposed to the fast-food or the Oridea Bagged Frozen fries?

Well they won't cover with oils ? Real potato's are healther than frozen or fast food and i'd bake with say "Pam' sprayed on pan and over potato's and use season salt instead of regular salt! even mrs. dash is rather good!
bake on pizza pan or cookie sheet at 350 degreees say for 30 minutes turn over then cook an additional 10 minutes turn off oven leave pan in oven till cool you'l get browned fries that are good!!

Baking is ALWAYS healthier than frying. They use the same oil all day long at most fast food joints, and the oil is LOADED with salt. Bagged and frozen fries have so many preservatives to keep them from going bad, you don't want to pollute your body with that.

Healthier doing them from scratch and baking in the oven, especially with paprika sprinkled over them. Sweet Potatoes sliced like fries and baked in the oven are delicious. Those you buy at the fast food places have been cooked in grease and are less healthy. Try the sweet potato ones.

HOME MADE FRIES ARE DEFINITELY HEALTHIER. JUST CUT POTATOES UP INTO FRY LIKE PIECES AND BAKE THEM AND OUT SALT OR WHATEVER YOU WANT ON, AND THEN YOU DON'T HAVE GREASE AND ALL OF THAT OIL THAT FAST FOOD FRIES ARE BAKED IN. SOME OF THE BAGGED FRIES AREN'T THAT BAD EITHER AND THE SERVING SIZE IS PRETTY GOOD. ALSO ANOTHER HEALTHY ALTERNATIVE ARE SWEET POTATO FRIES THAT YOU CAN MAKE AT HOME

Yes home made fries are way better. Because you can use your choice of oil such as olive oil, grapeseed oil which are really healthy and wont clog your arteries, you also know that its not going to get fried with recycled oil which I thought I tasted this french fry once that tasted like fish. So you know its healthier to make them yourself

Potatoes by themselves have no fat and like 80-130 calories. Compare that to fast food or the bagged veriety and you'll save calories and fat by making them yourself. But of course the taste will not be the same--why does everything taste better fried?
