How many people agree with open immigration?
not open borders but open immigration (uncapped visas).
It would not lead to overpopulation. When britten uncapped visas they had no overpopulation. When you have a free market economy but a closed market system it can not work. Most immigrants dont want to come over for ever they want to come and work and then return home and buy a house and start a family.
Your culture is not being taken away in Texas. Last time I checked Texas was part of the U.S and the U.S was started with immigrants and our origional culture was immigrants so your culture is not different than Idaho or Vermont.

No, you only have to read what is going on in the UK to see 'open' immigration does not work.

It's a very bad idea.
It would lead to over population. More people mean a bigger strain on resources.
There are only so many jobs to go around. Are you suggesting that we employ immigrants(foreigners) before Americans? That would only lower the standard of living.
The USA has finite borders. We cannot house every body. And even if those immigrants only work for a short time, then any money they generate would leave when they leave. That can't help the economy.
The only way your idea could possibly benefit anybody, would be the total elimination of all national borders, world wide. That is called the New World Order. Personally, I don't want my national leader to live in another part of the world; and not even speak my language.
As it stands, we have plenty of legislation regulating immigration. We only need to properly enforce our current laws. Some laws need clarification. In military radio communication, it is called 'clear speech'. Meaning - say what you mean.

People should be able to live anywhere in the world they want to live without havingto go through all this crap in order to do so. This immigration crap tears families apart and people who love each other apart and keep them apart for years and for what? So, I agree w open immigration and with open borders also. As for everyone here in US and Canada..well, unless you are of native american ancestry, you all came from Immigrants.

I would suspect a small percentage. Uncapped immigration would lead to overcrowding within a country which lowers the standard of living for everyone.

I agree! if people are here on Visas, why not let them stay. They came in the right way, didn't they? but I don't get some people on here. They say "you are welcome if you come here legally blah blah blah!". But then they don't agree to something like this.
It makes me laugh when people say that the "culture is getting swept away because of illegal immigrants"....LOL. I don't know how they can justify that. Don't most live in the same areas of town with all the other Hispanics, that live, speak and look the same way? If any culture is getting swept away, that's because those people are not staying true to their culture!!!!!!
