How ever did people in other countries survive before globalization happened?

Before transnational corporations opened sweatshops in various countries around the globe to offer cheap products to the first world, how ever did people in these countries feed themselves?
Did no one exist anywhere in the developing world before factories owned by invesors in the first world opened their doors?
Rogue, Totally. But you don't have to have child labor to work in a sweat shop. There's a seperation in ideas there.
Leeda, I don't like to mention names, because I like to talk about ideas rather than people. If one person says it, chances are there are thousands that share the opinion. :)

The same way our ancestors did. Forraging, farming, or hunting. One day at a time.

As mentioned below, they did the same thing that everyone did. Live off the land.
What they are doing now is also similar to what the US did, during its own industrial revolution. The transition from agricultural economy to an industrial economy requires more man hours than are usually available, so often children are used to fill the gap. It is not the greatest solution I admit, but sometimes it is necessary for the growth.
ALso, these countries have little infrastructure to support these children while their parents work. Few schools and such. Sometimes working is the best option for the children... when the US fanatics boycotted certain companies that used child labor, the rate of child prostitution in those developing countries rose dramatically. The children will work, one way or another. Which is the greater evil?
