Does anyone know what the right size canvas is for the "Bob Ross Master Set"?
Does it need to be a specific size to match his video as closely as possible?
2 AnswersPainting9 years agoIn projectile motion, solve for velocity, given time and horizontal distance only.?
This seems like either a tough physics problem or impossible one, im not sure. You have a kicked soccer ball that travels 34 meters, and has a hang time of 2.3 seconds. The question is about velocity, and the diagram has an arc. The obvious answer of 14.78 seems like only the horizontal velocity. The book gives 18. something as the correct answer. Is there some way to arrive at the 18. something answer?
1 AnswerPhysics9 years agoDoes anyone know what feature makes a nortel phone ring on an incoming call?
Basically we have 1 phone that rings in our office, but when that person is away, it would be nice to allow other people's phones to ring so that we could hear them. it's probably just a 3 digit feature code, but I haven't had any luck finding it.
For starters, it's not feature *80 (ring volume). maxing that out does not make the phone ring on an incoming call.
3 AnswersLand Phones10 years agoChallenging Physics Question 200 Level any help out there?
a 4.72-kg particle is located at rest 1.06 m away from an origin O on a frictionless table. Suddenly it is acted upon by a 4 N force directed away from the origin. The force is applied for 2.56 s. Then it suddenly reverses direction and continues to act until both it and the velocity vanish simultaneously. Determine the total work done on the particle (to 4 sig figures).

1 AnswerChemistry1 decade agoBest Indoor Close Range Digital TV Antenna?
I'm looking for an optimal TV antenna for indoor use in downtown Chicago for a digital TV. The TV signals are strong here, but when you're indoors (especially in a large building) there may not be a good line of sight. Is there a specific type of antenna that is good for this specific circumstance?
So far my best luck has been with old fashioned rabbit ears.
3 AnswersTVs1 decade agoA few questions about the statistics of a lognormal distribution?
If Y = ln(X) and Y is normally distributed the distribution of X is Lognormal.
How do you account for observations of X that are 0 since there is no such thing as ln(0)?
Also, once the variance and mean of Y are computed, do standard z-table based confidence intervals work?

This is Windows XP Pro SP2
Disk Cleanup finds a total of about 250MB that it could clean up from the usual places.. temporary internet files, recycle bin, etc.
c:\windows\CSC\d1 contains 3GB of files named 80000020 thru 80012D40 counting up nearly sequentially.
Does anyone have an idea of what this could possibly be?
3 AnswersSoftware1 decade agoIs there a substitute for flossing?
I really really hate flossing. My hands are too big to fit in my mouth, plus I never developed the habbit. After recent work with the dentist, I have been making the effort because I finally buy into the fact that it does matter. Is there anything out there that makes flossing easier, or even better, is there a way to clean under your gumline without floss?
3 AnswersDental1 decade agoWhat is the best way around the sound limitations of connecting a DVI to an HDMI input of an HDTV?
I'm new to the land of the HDTV, and was wondering if it is typical for the HDMI Input of an HDTV to have a corresponding audio input. Say "Video 1" is HDMI, and you have your tv on "Video 1" is there usually a space to plug in the Red/White RCA cables to add a seperate sound signal to the TV as "Video 1" is selected?
If this isn't the case, does anyone have an answer to the lack of sound dilema that DVI to HDMI conversion presents?
3 AnswersTVs1 decade agoWhich is fake, Christianity, or Part 1 of this movie?
There is this internet movie (2 hours long) that goes into some fascinating aspects of the origin of modern religions in part I which is only about 30 mins long or so. As a Christian this movie had a pretty strong impact on me.. and really makes me question what I'm thinking when I "feel" religious. So the question is this, which seems more plausable, the religious rhetoric we've been taught all of our lives, or the claims that this movie makes?
Zeitgeist the movie:

If you click on run then type in %appdata% you are redirected to you application data folder. What other places can you go with %xxxxx%? Is there a list of these out there? I'm tempted to call them environment variables, but that seems like a misnomer, is there a proper name for these things?

1 AnswerMathematics1 decade agoWhat is the correct terminator for this SCSI card?
The adaptec 39320A? It has 2 ports on the back. The ports are female, and appear to have a cartridge looking line down the middle as opposed to a bunch of pinholes. Also, there appears to be 68 copper contacts around the edge of the slot..
There are SCSI ultra this and mega 320 that, I just want the right one. Anyone know what it is?
1 AnswerAdd-ons1 decade agoTough Computer Recycle Bin Question! Do files deleted from a mapped network drive show up in ANY recycle bin?
Windows 2000/2003 environment with XP clients.
Say you map a network drive to a share on a 2003 server, then navigate to that share. On some folder within that share, you come upon a file and decide to delete it. I have noticed that when you do this, the files do NOT show up in the local recycle bin... the one on your desktop. The next obvious step was to log on to the 2003 server with the same account, and then look through that recycle bin.. Nothing.
The question then presents itself, are these deleted files temporarily stored ANYWHERE, or are they just deleted immediately, and inaccessible without special recovery tools?
2 AnswersSoftware1 decade agoWhy is my Windows XP folder 30.2 GB in size?
-Uninstalls for all hotfixes are deleted
-All Patches are Installed
-Disk Cleanup frees up noting
-The Recycle Bin Is Empty
-System Restore uses only 2GB
-It's Virus Free (According to Symantec Anti-Viris)
What bothers me even more is that I see other machines running perfectly fine with a 10GB folder for Windows. These Machines are patched also.
Any thoughts or suggestions?
