How do you get a permit to keep a gun in your car?

You can get a concealed carry permit at 21 in most states. I would take many pistol accuracy and defense classes though, because just having a gun doesn't mean you can use it in a life or death situation.

I am a CCW holder. The requirements for each state are different so in order for me to help you I need to know what state you live in. Most states require you to take a class (1-2 days) and pass a written test, a shooting test. In any state you will be subject to numerous local, state, and federal back ground checks. You apply through your Sheriff's Dept. Here in NC the class is $150 and the Permit itself is $90, $80 for the permit (good for 5 years) and $10 for fingerprints to be made. You cannot carry in some places still, such as federal buildings, post offices, etc. Most states do not allow CCW on any educational campuses or at banks. In some states, you don't need a permit. In Georgia your car is an extension of your home and in Kennesaw Georgia it's the law if you own property you have to own a gun. So you see where I'm going with this. Contact your local police and they can give you the laws on it.

depending on your state you have to get a conciel and carry permit but rember if you enter another state that does not reconize or allow this your permit isn't any good in that state
