Did this frighten anyone else?
I am 11 weeks pregnant. I heard the baby's heartbeat at 8w4d (180bpm) - I also saw him/her moving around on u/s - and at 9w4d (172 bpm) on doppler. Despite this I have this nagging fear that something is WRONG - like the baby died and I don't know. It's a very stressful time because the 1st trimester symptoms are going away and while I am thickening around the waist I am not "showing" and I obviously cannot feel my baby move. I have no idea how he/she is doing. Everyone told me to rent a doppler, but I am going to resist because I know it will probably make me obsessive worried.
Did anyone else have this fear that the baby was not okay?
The perinatologist told me once I have heard the heartbeat with my age and that the baby measures great and I have no bleeding etc that my risk of miscarriage is less than 3%. However, I STILL freak out.
I am 11 weeks.
lol. I said that in the beginning.
Dario. SAME with me. I am in college and was scared of getting pregnant. NOW I am pregnant and scared to lose my baby.

Oh, I think the fear that something is wrong with your baby is a very common one. I worried all the way through both of my pregnancies, so much so that I even bought a doppler for the second one. When I couldn't find his heartbeat at 17 weeks I just KNEW something was wrong. Well, nothing was wrong at all - just those horrible pregnancy hormones that make you worry and imagine all kinds of horrible scenarios. Unfortunately, that fear that something is wrong will probably not go away and will last for the duration of your pregnancy. Next you will worry that you are going into preterm labour and then you will worry that the baby is not moving enough. It is a scary time, that's for sure, but just hang in there and everything will be just fine!

I understand completely. I am 12 wks 5 days and things get better the further along I am, but there are (and were) times when I'd just truly believe that I was totally kidding myself about this pregnancy. The HPT was wrong, the doctor's blood test was wrong, the ultrasound was wrong, the heartbeat wasn't really the baby's, the symptoms just meant I had the flu....I don't know, just crazy thoughts. My biggest fear was getting pregnant (i'm still in college) but as soon as I found out, my biggest fear was losing the pregnancy. I think the 12 week mark means there is less than 1% chance of miscarriage. And younger age/minimal to no risk factors mean things look even better.
We're both worrying ourselves sick for nothing. Once we get our big bellies and can feel them move I'm sure this will subside.
Although, then we'll probably find something else to worry about. :)
Good luck and I wish you a healthy, happy pregnancy!

Who doesn't! I am in the same boat as you. My doctor is awesome and always told me that if I have any fears and I want to come in and hear the babies heartbeat then I should.
Of course I had a stillbirth last year so I tend to be a little more nervous then I should be. The point is..go to the doctor and see if they can get the Doppler for you..It might easy your mind and lower your stress which is good for all involved.

I went through the same thing!!!! I still worry about not feel my little move and that I know something is wrong. But everything is great. Just remember that to much stress isn't good for you or the little one. It is okay to worry but just remember to think positive and you have another 18 years of that fear something could be wrong with your baby. You just have a head start. Just relax and enjoy this moment because it will not last long.

i had the same fears until i reached 18 weeks and felt my baby move. i was constantly going to the doctor. they thought i was crazy. my advice to you is to relax and as long as your doing everything right you will be fine and so will your baby! i swear i used to be a wreck, and would get ultrasounds or have the doc do the doppler thing. but if you worried make appointment, i feel that if your concerned you should go, dont let anyone try to change your mind. good luck

I think that every woman wonders if everything is okay in there. Since you can't feel the baby moving until later it is hard to know if baby is doing okay.
I know I was, and am still the same way. I am 16 1/2 weeks, I just started to feel thebaby moving.. so it's wearing off. But I totally get what you are saying.

It's normal to feel the way you are feeling! I think at certain times, we all have the fear that something terrible is going to happen to our baby. I'm 16 weeks, and just starting to feel the baby move here and there, and I still get worried. Just try to stay as calm as you can.
Good Luck!

You're not alone, I used to freak out too. If you're fairly young and healthy then everything should be fine. Enjoy the relatively symptom free 2nd trimester (w/ those tiny baby flutters and kicks) b/c after that...trust me your baby will never let you forget that she's there! She'll be squirming all over the place!

hi there. im in the same place you are. ive heard the heartbeat, seen the baby, but still...i cant help but worry. i think its completely normal. for about $20 you can go to kmart and buy the heart monitor. its called bebe sounds. you wont be able to hear until the end to the 2nd to the 3rd trimester. and youll also feel better when you can feel the baby kick.

I felt like that for the longest time. I still get like that every once in awhile - and I've already had my 20 week ultrasound. This is my first, so I think that's only natural.
