Are you more afraid of cops or criminals?

It depend on where you are. In Thailand, or elsewhere some of the cops are corrupt. If the cop was corrupt, you wouldn't know what to expect or wth he will do to you but at least you learn to stay away from criminals.

I am neither, but anyone who isn't afraid of cops or any legal authority is very ignorant. I live in a low crime area but the most crime I've seen was committed by Cops, lawyers and Judges.

I used to be a very pro cop conservative until I experienced the bias that some copes have shown and the willingness of judges and my own lawyers to believe everything they say without a shred of evidence. I'm not saying that all cops are corrupt or even that most are. I'm just saying thay they are no better or worse then any other person that gets a little power.

The ordinary street criminal, at least, can't put me in jail or take away my life savings with impunity.

Criminals.

Cops, they have no accountability in any way. They are enforcing the Patriot Act and on top of this if they are local cops they enforce stupid laws that say you can't paint parts of your house a certain color. What if they sent in the swat teams and killed someone because they got the wrong address? Where is the accountability for this?

How can anyone not fear cops?

I would have to say both,where i live the cops are just as crooked as the criminals,they are just better at hiding it!

Criminals...although my heart always leaps when I see a cop driving near me and I have to suddenly slow down.

Criminals because some of them are really hateful and don't care how they hurt someone or kill just to get whatever they think they need.

Cops - I have no fear of them as I have not committed any crime. Nothing to fear. They are there for our protection and to enforce the law. Kudos to the cops!
