Did the ending to lost surprise you?

Yep.

Many things about it surprised me! I sort of thought the one in the coffin might be Locke, but I also dismissed the idea. I am happy that Desmond was finally reunited with Penny, and I guess that there is no doubt now that Jin is dead, which is really sad.

I am wondering what will happen now with Kate, since Claire told her not to take Aaron back to the island! That makes for another interesting twist in the plot. It will make it very hard to convince her to go back.

I actually thought it would be Locke in the coffin the whole time.

yup i totatally thought it would've been sawyer in the coffin, but besides that, the whole entire episode was surprising but at the same time awesome!
