How would I strip paint off a beer can?
I have some aluminium beer cans and want to remove the paint to leave just shiney aluminium without damaging the can. What techniques can I use that don't require a lot of effort? I have 20 cans to process and don't want to use wirewool on them all. I have time thought so don't mind soaking them in something.
I expect that the wire brush and drill/grinder idea would scratch up the cans rather badly.
Acetone aka Nail Polish remover sounds like a good solution, will try that out.
Tried the acetone, did not work I do have a slightly cleaner can now.
I'm wondering if it's actually a powder coat not a paint and hence the wire wool approach will be the only solution?

I would try a wire wheel or brush on a drill. A bench grinder with a brush would be perfect.

Common lacquer thinner will eat the paint off in a matter of 30 minutes..Use caution it will burn your skin if handled too much..as well if you plan on using these to drink out of or plant in..scrstch the whole idea
