Why not "double date" or just go out with friends for now, until you get some experience under your belt with the first phase? You might find it easier to talk to someone in a group, or with another couple. It is hard at first, but it does get easier with practice, and you really do need to take that first step.

The first phase is for getting better acquainted with someone to learn how compatible you are with each other. You have to ask each other a lot of personal questions and discuss your differences of opinions. What's your favorite food or meal? Favorite color? What's your pet peeve? Why? Ask a lot of "why's." Compare your differences... "I like to get up early in the a.m. and you don't? Hmmmm That could be a problem unless we make some adjustments or compromises. Look at the first phase as a time to discover someone new and as a fun thing. After all, it is kinda an investment of time with her. So, do your research and go for it.

Dude I know totally how you feel about developing ridicolous crushes on girls and not being able to talk to them. Anyway just be yourself and belive me its normal to be worried on the first date becuause if you were not you are more likely to make a mistake.

From my personal exprience as well the guys that tend to have the most success with girls seem to move on to one girl after the next becasue they know techniques to chatting to women. But guys who are overconfident and cocky are the ones who are most likely to cheat and end in divorce. Its the quite sensitive even slightly nervous type of guys that win in the end belive me.

I'd suggest you join a club - something you're interested in, and something where both sexes participate. Get to know girls as friends. If you're really struggling get hold of a book or do a course on self-confidence. All the best!

I dated two guys who were shorter way shorter than me (I'm really tall). One lasted a year and the other 2 years. You do get stares and people have had opinions about it. But I never cared and you shouldn't either :) if she makes you happy that should be all that matters

Well just be friends first, dont show that you like her, most girls just want a guy they can rely on to be there for them anyway. Then just show that you are a great guy and that you will be there for her when "the going gets rough" eventually she will totally fall for you. I hope that helps!
