who looks at horse classifieds? I need key words...?
I am looking for a list of key words regularly used in horse classifieds and their meanings. (i.e. companion-aged or injured horse not being sold as a riding horse, green-little training). Can you think of any?????
Trying to get a small "dictionary" together of equine words to explain to non-horse people or inexperienced horse people.
I listed a few examples and I have tons more, was just hoping that someone might have some I hadn't thought of.

You just came up with some yourself. The keywords could be an age, price, gender, discipline...it depends on what you're looking for!
EDIT: There ain't no such thing as a "small" dictionary of horse terms! You'll need an encyclopedic volume. We practically speak our own language. If I were you I'd look through non-fiction horse books with a hilighter in hand and choose them that way. Merci beaucoup for the thumbs down!

Prospect = not trained for that purpose yet
as in Western Pleasure Prospect -
Brood Mare = usually not trained for riding
Brood Mare Sound = only good for a baby machine, not sound enough to ride
Companion Animal = not good for anything except as a pasture ornament
Green - could mean anything from not trained at all to limited training
30 days professional training = see Green Horse - not good for beginner
Started under Saddle = See Green horse also not good for beginner
there are tons of others that escape me right now.

A funny key word I have been seeing lately is Husband safe, meaning the same as bomb proof, or kid safe. That one always makes me laugh. But, I married a man who does ride, so dont have to find him a husband safe horse! LOL
You may also want to explain to people to watch out for some key words as well, such as spunky, energetic, spirited, green, needs miles, been standing for ___ months or years, Those are some keywords for beginners to stay away from. Arabians are also a good keyword for beginners to stay away from most of the time.

Well, what are you looking for?
I'd start by using keywords such as the breed you're looking for- for example, "Arabian," or "Quarter Horse" or "QH". If you want a registered animal, I'd use the word "Registered" or "Papers" or the name of a specific breed organization- "AQHA" or "AHA" or "TWHBEA" etc...
What discipline do you do? "Hunter" "Jumper" "Barrels" "Trail" "Western" "reining" "dressage" "saddleseat" "harness" etc...
Do you want a well-trained horse? "dead broke" or "finished" might be good keywords. If you're ok with younger, less-trained, then "green broke" might help.
A few warnings about internet sales of horses- if the person posting the ad can't spell, that says a lot about them and their animals- I'd avoid ads with umpteen misspelled words- if they can't spell "train" and "board" and "lesson" and other basic words of the trade... well... yikes.
There are a LOT of scammers out there!!! Beware!!!
Once you find a potential horse, have it vet checked!!! Even if all you want to do is trail ride, have it vet checked!!!
Good luck!

HUH! What exactly are you asking?
Why do you need a list of key words AND their meanings?
You "i.e" is pretty self explanatory ...not for sure what your'e not understanding there either!
