What is a good biography of Queen Elizabeth I?

I would like one that is historically accurate and interesting to read, NOT a scholarly tome or a fictionalized romance!

Try books by historians David Starkey and Antonia Fraser. I recommend also Alison Plowden and Alison Weir. The latter also wrote "Children of England", which deals with Henry VIII's other children, and Lady Jane Grey. Another book follows on with Elizabeth's life from her accession. It's immensely readable, with a lot of personal information.
