Guitar Hero Guitar Whammy issues?

For some reason my whammy bar doesn't work..it's kind of loose. I'm upgrading to a PS3 and need to trade it in, will they give me anything for it?

    depends if they want it in working condition or that dont care, also they could easily fix it
