How come the hit show "24" featuring muslim terrorists disappears until right after the presidential election?

there was a thing called a writers strike.......

Writers' strike. 24, by design, requires that a season be composed of 24 episodes. The show hadn't begun filming at the time the strike started, and by the time it was over it would have been impossible to write and film that many episodes before summer, so they essentially canceled the '07-08 season of the show and just go ahead in '08-09.

The writers' strike ring a bell? They like to show it in one straight shot, no breaks. So, unfortunately it means we have to wait until Jan. 09. This is a very sore subject with me. I'm going through Jack Bauer withdrawals. Time to bust out the past season DVDs!

im so pissed it went off air, just like prison break due to the writes strike, i think 24 will come back in 2009, but im not sure about prison break, even though that was my favorite show EVER
