We have a kitchen that measures 12'x13' with a vaulted ceiling....(pic included)?

Our cabinets fill 2 of the 4 walls. Right now we have some fugly track lighting on the ceiling and a light fixture over our breakfast nook.

My question is....if we remove the track lights and install undercab lighting on the 2 walls of cabinetry would we also need to put lighting back up on the ceiling. Is undercab lighting just used for task lighting? If so, what should we use. We will be leaving the lighting fixture over the breakfast nook. Thanks.

I would want to know do you have room above for eyeball type recessed lighting? The 3" kind are nice. Maybe 2 on each side of the vault. I think underlights are great for task lighting only.

You should also have task lighting over the sink, and an island (if you have one) .... but you can use hanging pendant lights for that. Install dimmers so that you can lower them to ambiance lighting when you don't need task lights.....
