60000 + 6000 = 66000
.10 is equal to 10 % and by add 6000 you are adding the amount of the raise to her current salary.

$60,000/100 = 600
600 x 10 = 6000
$60,000+6000 = $66,000
Her new salary is $66,000

10% of 60000 is 6000 (you move the decimal point to one to the left.)
60000+6000=66000
so it's $66000
