Opinions on Kieffer Lusitano?
I'm thinking of getting a Kieffer Lusitano. Anyone have any experience with them? What did you like/dislike about them?
It's a saddle :-P
I have ridden in an older, cheaper Kieffer before, I didn't mind it.
I haven't ridden in this saddle yet but I sat on it in the tack shop, it felt pretty good. Gotta try it on my horse..

What a LOVELY saddle! I've always been a fan of Kieffer's anyway!
Just in case those of you who haven't been to their site would like to look...

I can see how marvelously DEEP this saddle is and would keep you in it without a problem.

I have never ridden in one of those but personally I hate Kieffer Saddles. I think they are too hard on the seat. If you have never ridden in a Kieffer you should for sure try it before you buy. Sorry I couldn't have been more help.
Good luck!

It's a lovely saddle! My trainer has one of them and loves it!!! She just bought it less than a year ago. It's an amazing saddle but personally I prefer the Kieffer Orphee, it's my favourite saddle ever!! my friend showed my the ad in a greenhawk flyer, what sold me to it was: "big flap providing the best possible fredom of movment at the horse's shoulders... winner in comfort for both horse and rider."

I do dressage and I love Lusi's too. They aren't all that hot in fact they are bred to have interest in threats to them. That is why they are the breed used for bull fighting, they aren't easy to scare away. The biggest problem with using them in dressage is that they have all that collection and that hurts you when you try to do an extension. But with the right training you can get the extension. I've looked online a lot and many people compare their warmbloods with baroques on the same tests. They find that the scores even out. The warmbloods movement gets it good points, and the baroques natural collection gives them good points. I really like them and I'd love to (when I grow up) have one that can do some high school dressage :)

You can not go wrong with this saddle. It is just a good all around well made saddle.
