How to revive Phalaenopsis Orchid?
I have a Phalaenopsis Orchid and one of the flowers has gotten really droopy and seems to be dying. What can I do?
2 AnswersOther - Home & Garden1 decade agoBest drugstore self tanner?
Which ones work fairly quickly? I'm very pale but I don't want to turn orange. Also, are there any that don't smell bad?
2 AnswersOther - Skin & Body1 decade agoPeriod starting before done birth control pills?
I have four birth control pills left (last week before sugar pills). I started to get my period or spotting (? hard to tell my period is very light) today. I've noticed my period has been heavier and I've had more cramps lately. I'm on Tricyclen-lo. Should I ask my doctor about going on a high dosage or is it normal?
3 AnswersWomen's Health1 decade agoWhat to wear to wedding?
I have a wedding to go to at the end of May.
It is semi-formal. The wedding is outside but the reception is at a formal hotel.
What would be appropriate to wear?
5 AnswersFashion & Accessories1 decade agoQuestion about selling saddles?
I am selling my saddle. Someone is interested and would like to try it out. I am just curious how most people do this.
What if the saddle is not returned in the same condition?
What other agreements and the like should be made before allowing someone to try out your saddle?
3 AnswersHorses1 decade agoHow to keep bay horse from bleaching out?
I have a dark bay horse that I'd like to keep dark bay :P
I don't really want to use Black-as-Knight or any other product as it's expensive and I hear paprika is not good for them anyway. I also plan on showing this summer.
What kind of blanket could I use that would actually work? I was told that if I just use a blanket his neck will still bleach out so that would just look kinda dumb.. lol
Any suggestions? :-)
3 AnswersHorses1 decade agoThe name of a famous jump?
My friend is trying to figure out the name of a jump she saw on tv (Probably Spruce Meadows or something). The horse and rider go down a steep hill and right away must jump. I think the jump is white. Anyone know of this jump?
3 AnswersHorses1 decade agoHorse photographers - which dslr?
I'm looking into buying a digital SLR. I am mostly looking for a quick camera (always just end up getting my horses butt when I am trying to get a nice shot of him running or whatever, lol) and pretty decent quality, of course. Any suggestions?
5 AnswersHorses1 decade agoFor dressage, warmbloods vs. iberians?
Do you agree with this?
"It is the age of the warmblood, not the baroque's or the thoroughbreds. The baroque breeds are built for collection, but don't have the staying power in extended work like the warmblood, there for are usually picked off slowly as they reach the higher levels. Thoroughbreds just lack that special somehintg that you need for an elite Grand Prix competitor, they don't really have they hugely flashy lengthening, and they're not built for high degrees of collection such as piaffe/passage. Doo'nt get me wrong, they CAn do the movements, just not as beautifully as the warmblood"
I'll state my opinion later, just interested in hearing other peoples atm (especially other iberian lovers, like myself) :)
7 AnswersHorses1 decade agoWhat does "haupstutbuch" mean?
I was looking at a horses pedigree, before the name of several of the horses names it said "haupstutbuch". Anyone know what this means?

23 AnswersHorses1 decade agoPartboarding?
Someone is interested in partboarding my horse.
He's a nine year old Hanoverian. Very quiet, great for learning on/excellent work ethic. In dressage training, he's got solid training level training and progressing well. Hacks out nicely. Has been shown before.
The facilities he's at has an indoor arena, outdoor arenas, about 40 acres available for hacking, access to dressage coach, etc.
The person who wishes to partboard him is only wanting to ride about 2-3 times a week. How much would you charge for something like this? Also, I assume I need her to sign some sort of contract? Any other information would be appreciated :-)

I'm thinking of getting a Kieffer Lusitano. Anyone have any experience with them? What did you like/dislike about them?
7 AnswersHorses1 decade agoSynthetic vs Leather stirrup leathers..?
What are the pros and cons to using synthetic instead of leather? (or vice versa)
I was told that synthetic will cause less wear on my saddle (it's leather). Is this true?
The only thing I can think of is that leather is probably easier to bend and price..
6 AnswersHorses1 decade agoWhat halter colour should I get for my dark bay hano?
I just got a really dark (like, almost black-looking) horse :)
What colours do you like best on them? (for his halter)
His saddle, bridle, polos, saddle pad, etc. will all be plain black and white. (It's a dressage thing, I think :P)

10 AnswersLaw Enforcement & Police1 decade ago(dressage) Another prospect - opinions, please?
Okay, yet another dressage prospect I am looking at. I'd love to hear opinions on this mare.
CSH reg. 8 years old. 16 hands. $13000 (will sell to me for $8000 since they need to clear out horses) Scores of 70's and 80's at her first dressage show.
9 AnswersHorses1 decade agoWould you ever buy a horse that had coliced before?
I'm looking at this horse for sale. He is perfect, except he's five years old and has coliced(sp?) before requiring surgery. Is he worth looking in to further?
14 AnswersHorses1 decade ago(dressage) Should I buy this horse?
I posted a question with a video of this horse. Some people think he'd be a good dressage prospect, others think his shoulder is too straight and hindquarters looked too weak.
What does everyone else think?
I am doing lower-levels at the moment but wish to progress as much as possible without having to sell the horse and "upgrade" (I get very attached - although I will if i MUST. Hope that makes sense - I know it's hard to progress through dressage levels with the same horse)
So, any opinions would be apprectiated :-)
