Your name probably sounds similar to one on the watch list! Therefore you get an extra scan to double check. Is that a problem? No because they have not pulled you out for a complete strip search.

My credit card gets scanned multiple times at the checkout line too. I assume my magnetic strip has an issue and doesn't always read the first or second time. You are probably being paranoid, that is, if you don't have something in your background to be paranoid about. Start worrying when they strip search you.

It's unfortunate that you pay the price because of acts committed by people of similar origins as yours. It may not be fair to you, but I know even some Arabs understand that it's necessary to increase airport security. People of different ethniticities are guilty of atrocities, but when it comes to aircrafts, specific incidents involving specific people come to mind.... Sad but true. Don't let it get to you. After all, you DO pass after the second scan.

Yes that would be due to your name, appearance and country of origin. Police have been using profiling for centuries because it works.
Many of the terrorists come from Saudi Arabia, just a fact you have to live with....nothing personal

I am Indian but was born in Kuwait. Welcome to the club, even though you might be in a slightly worse club, since many terrorists were paksitanis born or residing in KSA.
Hang in there. Be a good person, and do the right things. As long as you stay clean, you have nothing to worry about.
