Healthy food? Not many options.?

I am a college student & I am on a mission to lose weight this summer. I am 20 years old 5'8 and 277. I don't have a car and I'm low on food. As of now I have the following:

-3 gallons of water

-cake mix/icing

-3 packages of Cheddar Broccoli rice(by Lipton)

-a box of Tuna Helper(Fettuccine Alfredo)

-3 individual packages of regular oatmeal

-2 cans of mustard/turnip greens

-a box of hot cocoa

-a jar of Ragu

As you can see, none of the things I have right now really match. I'm hungry(& tired of oatmeal)! What can I eat??? There's a Walgreens and a CVS within walking distance...any reccomendations?

(Note: I don't eat beef or pork, so thats out.)

Update:

I forgot...I have a bag of white rice.

If the items you listed are all you have to eat for the time being then you have no choice but to eat what you have available to you. Just watch your portion size. I recommend trying to put some money aside and when you get enough take a grocery shopping trip and select healthier foods. They have a tendency to be a bit more pricey so I'd suggest clipping coupons and looking for good sales. A balanced diet is best. www.mypyramid.gov might be of some more help when selecting which foods you should eat and how to lose weight in a healthy way.

    Come on!

Where there's a CVS there's a supermarket within 1-2 miles. Weight loss is easy, walk to the supermarket, even if it's a 2-3 mile walk. You can get a grocery cart and fit quite a bit of food in a messenger bag and /or backpack can't you? You don't even need the cart. The walk alone plus carrying groceries will help with exercise. Water (buy a filter) is great for weight loss. You've got mustard greens. You must be conducting a test of some sort because you can just enter the word nutrition on google and there's your answer. Enter inexpensive healthy eating. I ask you to decide from your own list, what's healthy and what's not? There--your education in calories and health begins. Remember the 4 squares? They're good and not expensive. Remember second about processed foods? And third, remember to exercise 30 minutes each day. Already doing 30, find another 30.

The noodles (better to have whole wheat noodles, though) from the tuna helper (discard sauce packet) with Ragu sauce

A side of mustard /turnip greens

    water

    Oatmeal is good for you.

The rest of the food won't work for a diet. Beleive me, I been on one for 4 months and lost 25 lbs. doing away with processed foods.

eat eggs and steak and vegetable..\\

there is a weight watchers meeting not far from you..

the weight watchers method is a proven success and there is no forbidden foods do no need to buy "special foods"

if you have a lot of money and are lazy then Jenny Craig meals or similar prepackaged meals are for you..but it better to learn portion control and learn how to eat in restaurants and have the support of other people..this will keep you on track..the food diary works ..as well as daily exercise..but all this takes effort on your part..do what you want but whatever you do..don't get any bigger

this is an old homework ?!...... what the heeellll,

you do your own homework, lol.

If you weigh that much, I recommend throwing the frosting in the dumpster as you head out for your walk.....you skip those calories, and make yourself a big ole' batch of rice. When you get to CVS, ask for the candy isle to be blocked for the duration of your visit.

if you wanting to lose some weight...just have the ragu sauce stirred in with your rice. and have a oint glass of water with it.

then go to the shops tomorrow and stock up on fresh fish such as salmon as it contains "good" fats that you need. get plenty of vegetables such as brocolli, kale, cabbage, sweet potato. also get some fresh fruit like apples, cherries, tomatoes, plums, red grapes.

and get a cucumber, lettuce, rocket, radishes and some organic hummous.

switch to semi skimmed milk or soya milk and get some raisins to mix in with your porridge that you can make wth the oats.

get brown rice next time instead of white.

and dont drink fizzy drinks. stick to water and one glass of fruit juice or fruit smoothie a day.
