why does my puppy keep pees and poops in her cage?

her cage is the right size for her and everything shes takes frequent walks through out the day only eats twice a day takes a very long walk before bed and during that last walk she pees and poops. as well as she pees and poops on some of the other many walks we take. I also on taking her for a long walk before bed we also play for like 20 mins. so why does she always cry and pee and poop in her cage. I even try my clothes that have my scent and everything. its getting annoying and disgusting becaue i havft to clean her every time. I have tried everything even our local dog whipere is confused.

So she is in the cage unless you are taking her on a walk or playing with her? Perhaps you should consider another option. Maybe get a baby gate and put some puppy pee pads down on the floor in the kitchen so that she has some free space to roam around. Perhaps she doesn't like being in the cage the majority of the day and is seeking attention. I would re consider your options and only leave her in the cage if you are not home, or consider putting a baby gate up to block off the kitchen (if the kitchen is not carpeted) so that she has more space and can feel less confined.

Depending on how old the puppy is, she may not understand that the crate is not the proper place for that. she will, it will just take time.

Whatever you do, DON'T use the crate as a place for punishment. Use a different room, like a bathroom. The crate needs to be her safe place. We never used the crate for punishment with our dogs, and now, our youngest dog (about 2 years old) will go and take a nap in his crate if the door is open. When he chews something up, he goes and hides in the bathroom. The crate is his comfort zone.

Look into your feeding times. For example, I feed my dogs at 6:30 a.m., and last time at about 4:30 p.m. They have lots of time out, and in. Back and Forth. With me watching for any signs of sniffing, looking for that perfect spot inside the house. Immediately get dog out. Puppy might truly hate the crate, but that is tough for them. Eventually they will get used to it, but you can't leave them in it too long.

Do you have a bed in there? If so take it out.

Make sure your dog is on a feeding/water schedule.

Did you get the dog from a pet shop? I often find that pet shop dogs have this problem
