Deary you, besides the fact that all your friends are there, have you thought about what you want to do there and what you're qualified to do? That will hugely affect your living arrangements. And how you will work there (do you have an EU passport, or will you need a visa?). I lived there for 3 years and it is insanely expensive, so I would suggest you look for a flatmate. Your buddies should be able to direct you to the most affordable yet comfortable places to live, which will probably be outside Zone 1. Generally speaking, for your living expenses, your cost of living numbers are about the same as the US, but the actual price will be double what the USD is. And salaries are lower than the US. Unless you land a great job at a top financial/investment firm, you will be pretty tight. When i was there 3 yrs ago, a decent salary was low-mid 30's GBP for someone with about 5 yrs experience. But I don't want to discourage you, I'm sure you will love it, there is an incredible energy in London, and it's easy to travel to other parts of Europe. Good luck and have fun!

If you want a customer service job, just go into any store and ask for an application form. Take along some copies of your CV as well in case they ask for that instead. There are probably vacancies in pretty much any supermarket. If not, check out the job centres in London, or look in the newspaper for vacancies. Also try Monster.Com and Friday-Ad.Com

The best source of jobs here in London and the UK, is the UK.gov's own labour service at JOBCENTREPLUS - they have the bulk of work available here in UK, in spite of what many private employment agencies will tell you and the reason for this is because they do not charge an employer a fee to put up a job on their list available via the Internet or down at the Job Centre near where you live.

I strongly recommend that you go to your own local Job Centre and sign up with them. You'll find lots of help and advice plus you will be able to claim 'Job Seekers Allowance'.
JSA - Job Seekers Allowance, is not very much, usually about £50 but it's purpose is to help you with such as transport while out there job hunting.
You can also join Job Seekers Club at your local Job Centre Plus.
At your local Job Centre, you will see a few computer screens. These are 'touch screens' for public use. You can use one of these to quickly search for jobs in your own category.
You can also do the same online.
It is FREE service to everyone.

My Lord Jesus is forever employing new applicants everyday. As it is commanded for us followers to work 6 days and then rest on the 7th. I had problems too once and then I prayed to the Lord to help find employment that I might better serve Him. And don't you know that I have 2 jobs now and still have Sunday off so that I might have fellowship with my church family. I even get Mondays off too, so that I might have time to do all those things I need to which take place in the work week. Praise Jesus!

I am also struggling with just about everything in this God forsaken hell hole they call London.
Keep the faith my friend and something will come to in all in good time.
Maybe try your local council. They are usually always needing customer service people.
