Hey buddy. There are a few things you can do to relieve the symptoms of stress and reduce its affects on your body and immune system. .....to better deal with the daily helping of stress we are all exposed to ♥
Eat more foods rich in magnesium ~ magnesium is known as the antistress mineral and will help you deal with stressy situations and just the daily grind of life better.
foods rich in magnesium are ~ leafy and green vegies, organic nuts and seeds ~ organic to avoid nasty sulfites and other chemicals they use in the commercial varieties to "preserve" them which may upset sensitive digestive systems, wholegrain cereals and breads (if you can tolerate wheat) and cold water fresh fishes such as tuna, sardines, salmon and whiting........... the EFA's (essential fatty acids) in the cold water fishes do a brilliant job for me for equalising my moods and stress levels, i try to eat some description of fish each day..... but each person is different and you need to find your own level.
Magnesium is needed in the body for healthy nerve and muscle functioning and of course for heart health. Foods rich in magnesium will also aide in eliminating constipation by increasing the production of hydrochloric acid in the tummy and thus assisting in digestion............ magnesium will also cure an acid tummy
Foods rich in Tryptophan will help induce natural sleep and aid in reducing stress, depression, anxiety and tension.
Avoid caffeine too, as it will only rob you of your essential B complex of vitamins and vitamin C supplies.
foods rich in Tryptophan are ~ bananas, cottage cheese, milk, meat, fish, turkey, bananas, dried dates, peanuts and all protein rich foods ............. turkey sandwiches may just do the trick buddy......... :0)
Have a soothing cup of organic loose leaf chamomile tea ~ this could be the relaxation remedy you need too♥
The tea bag and commercial varieties of herbal teas such as chamomile tea could never be of any therapeutic value as they have had so much of the essential oils pulverised from them .......... only organic will do buddy ♥
Also, try putting a few drops of pure essential lavender oil into a warm bath and soak in that for 15 minutes ~ the lavender oil is a great natural stress reliever and will relax you enormously ♥
Don't use the lavender oil if you are pregnant or breast feeding ♥
The poster who suggested you take a liquid B complex has a good point there too mate............ ensure you get one including all the B's as they all work best as a group...... the B complex of vitamins is essential for healthy neural, digestive and immune system functioning....... B12, part of the B complex also requires B6, calcium and vitamin D for effective assimilation so pump your intake of leafy and green vegies (calcium) and cold water fishes (calcium & vitamin D) or simply take a calcium supplement that contains vitamin D3 (easiest to assimilate).
Oh, don't forget to drink at least 2 - 3 litres of fresh filtered water too on a daily basis ...... you'd be amazed at the difference being properly hydrated will make to your sense of well being & energy levels ♥
hope this helps
cheers
♥

There are a few things you can do.
First review your diet there are lots a helthy diet can do to support a stressful time in your life. Make sure you are getting your five a day. Green leafy veg, Oily fish and dairy. All have goodies that will halp keep your mood level. Also avoid too many sugary things as a sugar peak can lead to a crash later on and keeping your blood sugar balanced will help you to cope better. Try to have oats, brown rice and pulses to your diet as these all help. This is more long term to help you cope.
Short term advice make sure you have YOU time 15 mins a day to do NOTHING. Thats right NOTHING dont actively try to clear your mind that can just casue a problem. Just take that time to relax. It doesnt have to be in the meditation potition it can be sitting standing or lying even in the bath or shower! This is however you feel comfortable. Take a quick deep breath and let it out slowly (this is why singing imporves your mood as its controlling your breathing) repete this pattern of brething and you will feel yourself unwind.
You might want to try an NLP technique of imagining a time you were calm recreate the moment in your mind try to close your eyes as its easier to visulise. Ok once you can honestly say you have done this I want you to imagine you have a dial or a button infront of you and each time you press the button that feeling of relaxation will double keep going until you think you have ultimate relaxation and press the button again! Once the feeling of relaxation is at this point I want you to step into the memory and engulf yourself in it. As you are experiencing this relaxation press your forefinger and your thumb together. This will ancor that feeling. Anytime you feel stressed you can press your fore finger and thumb together and the relaxing feeling will return.
It may seem a bit odd at first but this is a tried and tested technique and can help failing that get a self guidence CD which willhelp you do this (or see a specialist you can find them on the web!)
There are other tricks too. Deep slow breathing, drinking camomile tea with honey, a small spoon of honey (lowers seratonin, stress hormone that does fight or flight, in your system) Lavender blam on a handkerchief to smell when you get stressed. Also try having a stress ball. Physical exertion is also very worthwhile as it will release endorphins into your system.
Another rather odd one I have heard is boiling a banana skin in water for 15 mins and drinking the cooled water (sans skin) Banana skins have mood stablising properties. It does taste ok like camomile tea with a touch of banana flavour. Its worth a try!
Hope this helps!

Clary sage essential oil, make sure its a good make in a dark bottle and is 100% oil, sprinkle a few drops (no more than 8 into a warm bath) lay in bath for 15 min's and relax, no soaping or washing its a therapeutic bath, you can also sprinkle a few drops in a bowl of warm water and do an inhalation towel over head and bowl, to calm down faster, or use in a diffuser in a room or sprinkle on a rolled up hanky/tissue to carry with you.
Good Luck

Stress is how we react to a situation or person. Are you any good at visualising things? Imagine you are in a glass bubble, and while you can respond to what is going on nothing can get in to upset you.
Another one is if you have to do something you find stressful - like speak at a meeting - imagine you are someone else, a bit like acting, but make sure the person you are "acting" is good at what you need to do. Stress can't be magicked away quickly so best not to let it build up.

clear your mind, lay back, breathe in deeply and hold your breathe while clenching your muscles as hard as you can, hold that for ten seconds counting backwards, and relax when you exhale... wait 30 seconds and do it again. repeat 3 or four times for each of the muscle groups of the body, starting with the neck and face, then the upper body - shoulders, arms and hands, then the stomach area and buttocks, and lastly the legs and feet. if you can complete an entire session your body would feel destressed, and it would cost you nothing and take only 30 minutes or so. Do it when you wake and when you get home after work. Also do it before a shower or bath, so you can appreciate the relaxing therapy of the water on your skin.
Good luck and remember to breathe deeply...

Try Rhodiola Rosea. You can buy it over the counter at a pharmacy or order it on Amazon. I'm not sure how quick it can work but according to a lot of research, it is very effective.

Stress to where it almost creates anxiety attacks is best dealt with by B vitamins. There are many B complex formulas. The best are liquid ones. They enter the blood stream quickly and will immediately calm stress. They also help the body recover form old stress.( worn out nervous system). You can get them at the health food store.
