which state has been the most racist thru history i say alabama georgia or mississippi but i'am not sure?

I think that whole area of the South (especially Alabama/Georgia) still has a lot of recovering to do from the affects of racism.

I've visited a town on the Alabama/Georgia border, and was amazed at the difference in demeanor with African American's in that area!

If you see one in the grocery store, or just day to day, it's almost like they're scared to look you in the eye.

If you see them at church, they're fine, just like anyone else of every other color. I think that the reason for this sadly, is that racism still lives on in much of the south.

Don' know about history, but in the last 30 - 40 years, I'd have to say Michigan. They're all about TALKING about Diversity, but look at how the suburbs keep moving further away from Detroit, and the property values are incredibly inflated to keep blacks from following. A house that I own in Texas is worth a little over $200,000 but would cost half a million or more in northern Oakland County. And don't try telling me that property values are hotter there when the economy up there is sinking faster than theTitanic, and people are moving out faster than others are moving in. Including businesses.

I'm an Alabaman, and I would have to say throughout history it's our state. Hey, it all happened here. That's nothing to be proud of, of course, and it doesn't reflect on our attitudes today. I'm 28, I grew up in a multiracial neighborhood in the 1980s and none of us even thought twice about race. I wish the yankees would realize that...

Rosewood Florida has a bad reputation as well. If you have never seen the movie I highly recommend it. It really breaks your heart to know that people have suffered so severly because of racist people.
