Can a landlord refuse a check for rent from me if I renewed my lease?

I had some issues in the past with my direct deposit, and my rent checks had bounced because of it. I was then paying my rent via certified funds. Now that i have renewed my lease, I was wondering if I can now write checks for my rent.

He is not required to take checks from you if you have a history of NSF checks. Just because you renewed your lease does not obligate him to take checks.

the owner isn't required to resume the lease. you're actually on a month to month tenancy and the two you or the owner can terminate the lease with 30 days written word.

The land lord can refuse checks at any time unless it is in your lease that sayes you can pay with a check.

I would agree with previous posters............if you have a history of NSF checks..........he's not required. However if a new manangement company or landlord comes in to take over the property........then you can write the checks.

    Stick with the money orders.
