i would like to believe..?
from my answers and question posted on here, you would gather that im an atheist.
i would love to believe it god, sure it would be great.
but the only reason i have been given to believe in god is "faith"
no actual proof, or scientific evidence.
now don't you think that makes it a bit hard?

Faith is probably one of the hardest things to do and except.
Mainly because there is no proof or evidence.
I do believe in god, I believe that there is other life out in space.
BUT, even though I do believe, I do have doubts at times, because of the things that have happened and are happening in my life. I want to believe that there is a god and a heaven and that I was put on this earth for a reason, but at times I have no idea what that is and that is so very frustrating.....

So young, so cynical, so American. Time and fate will change you as it did me.
No branch of science explicitly or implicitly denies the existence of God. Science is all about studying that which already exists. It is not concerned with what it cannot quantify.
Proving or disproving God is not within the realm of science.
On the other hand, faith is all about believing. When we cease to believe in something that is greater than ourselves we find ourselves abandoned and alone. I believe in God; you put your faith in science. That’s fair.
Let’s understand that science answers the question “How”, while faith answers the question “Why”. We ask both questions and we have to go to the right source for the right answer.
If you really want to destroy faith then prove that God really exists, because then you have it as a fact and the need for faith ceases.

Islam is not a new religion, but the same truth that God revealed through all His prophets to every people. For a fifth of the world's population, Islam is both a religion and a complete way of life. Muslims follow a religion of peace, mercy, and forgiveness, and the majority have nothing to do with the extremely grave events which have come to be associated with their faith.
Muslims believe in One, Unique, Incomparable God; in the Angels created by Him; in the prophets through whom His revelations were brought to mankind; in the Day of Judgement and individual accountability for actions; in God's complete authority over human destiny and in life after death. Muslims believe in a chain of prophets starting with Adam and including Noah, Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Job, Moses, Aaron, David, Solomon, Elias, Jonah, John the Baptist, and Jesus, peace be upon them. But God's final message to man, a reconfirmation of the eternal message and a summing-up of all that has gone before was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad through Gabriel

well it is hard... anything is hard... but u have to develop faith i guess... it just doesn't come to u one day to the next.. i find it that once i believe in God, i dont question existence anymore--what for? what good will it do to me? who cares? God created it... i find that I am more peaceful with myself and with others.. if death wants to take me away any day come at me... i have a better place to go to anyways.. itgives me reassurance, and i dont need scientific evidence... just take a look outside- those birds who sing to Him every morning, or nature itself is evidence, Nothing can be done without God, nothing.... ^-^

Humans ask for “scientific” proofs for God. But he sees what a wonderful thing he is and what a wonderful world he lives in. He asks for “scientific” proofs for God. And then go on to live with Law of Induction without asking for any “scientific” proof for it!!!!!!!!!!

Believing or not believing are of no consequence in life. If you believe in God and be a terrorist, it is useless. If you don't believe in God and are a person who is useful to fellow human beings in society and win the love of all, then you have won the love of God even without believing in Him.

I too question the existence of the OT "God" but I believe in the existence of a higher power or consciousness. Call it the "collective."

What real, tangible benefit would you derive from believing in a supernatural entity? If you cannot see, hear, taste, smell, or touch something, is it really there? And if it isn't, does it matter?

I'm not sure *I* would want to believe -- judging from the Old Testament, Joe Hovah is a genocidal egomaniac, and complete undeserving of our worship and devotion.
