The government which helped get you into the mess which 'requires' stimulus checks wants you to spend them.

Which strongly suggests that the truly wise thing to do is to save.

Here's an Indian answer for your question. One, who saves, saves in order to make some one else spend the whole lot of your savings. It is so because you cheated him in your earlier birth and swindled all his wealth then. Now, you are making amends.

One, who spends, does that because the Almighty is kind enough to allow him to enjoy what he earned.

Now, it is up to you what to do with your savings. Make amends for your since in earlier birth or enjoy and lead a peaceful life.

Had to spend some on a new barn roof - high winds - almost tornado rated- ripped that one side up, so that is where ours went. Other is in the bank and going to use it for family vacation in July -going to several state parks. Keeping it in the USA and bought USA made materials for our barn.

Got $1200. Put $1000 into a 6-month certificate of deposit (CD) and the other $200 into a new freezer.

Wish I had the option - I owed money so the government kept it. :(
