If I wanted to swap out processors in my laptop, what things would I need to look out for?
I'm getting a tablet laptop, and currently it's housing an AMD Turion, and I'd like to swap it out with an Intel chip. I've never actually cracked a laptop open, and besides knowing I need a mobile processor, I'm not sure what to expect. Anything else I should expect inside, or is it a pretty simple switch to perform?
Thanks for the tips!
3 AnswersLaptops & Notebooks1 decade agoMoving from payroll to contractor?
When the company I work for switches to the next fiscal year, I am being switched from a part time employee to working as a contractor. I have been somewhat confused as to what might happen regarding taxes. I've heard that when on contract work taxes are: not taken out, filed every 3 months, and comes with an inflation on the Social Security Tax. I was hoping you could help shed some light on what will occur with this switch so that I have a better grasp of what to look for in the next year.
Thank you so much for your help! I will be grateful for any information you can give me on the matter.

Feel free to elaborate on why you this is the most important issue to you.
Are there any other issues you are concerned about? Are there any issues that you aren't concerned about at all?
Thanks in advance for your answers

How did that go?
20 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoAre we in American society still racially divided?
Yes, there is a greater sense of equality in our nation than there was 40 years ago, but what I'm focusing on in this question is more of a social scale.
I've noticed on my college campus that social groups are often divided by skin color. Of course, there are a few exceptions to this rule, but the bell curve is prominent. Why do you think that is?
On a personal level: in a free environment (outside of work, school, etc.), have you ever found it hard to relate to someone of a different skin color? Why or why not?
Thank you in advance for your answers.
7 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoHave you ever experienced culture shock?
When, where, and what caused it?
9 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoHas time in R+S caused you to develop prejudicial tendencies?
(examples: You're a Christian, and Christians don't understand evolution. You're an atheist, and atheists are devil worshipers, etc.)

14 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWould you put your brain in a robot body?
You would have X-ray vision, the strength of five gorillas, and the option to be a tiger-bot; but you can only be 5 feet tall, 'cause that's as big as they come.

16 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoHave you adopted the "us vs. them" mentality of R+S?
I've noticed something today that I cannot believe I've never really focused on before. I've seen bold statements like "no good has ever come from Christianity" and "all atheists are full of sin". While I've always seen the "us vs. them" factor of R+S, I never realized it was so polarizing.
Why do you think R+S is like this?
13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhat topics do you use to identify with people?
Say you're meeting someone for the first time. In a one-on-one situation, what would be your conversation starter? Do you ever use something along these lines:
"Hi, I'm an atheist. What are you?"
"Hi, I believe in Jesus Christ. Do you?"
Is this just an anomaly of R+S and the occasional door-to-door solicitor?
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy do you think we all have different beliefs regarding god, religion, the afterlife, etc.?
You can look at this on the grand scale, of why some of us are Christian, some are atheist, Pagan, Buddhist, agnostic, Muslim, Jewish, etc.
Or you can look at this on a smaller scale, which is where I am, about how even in our own religious affiliations we have differences of opinion on certain topics. All Christians don't believe the same thing about everything, even though they might use the same Bible. All atheists don't agree on issues like spirituality.
Thoughts please? Thank you in advance for your answers
12 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWHY, WHY doesn't the bag of 'dried plums' state they ARE prunes?
I thought they were so yummy, I ate the whole bag at work. I didn't know they were prunes in disguise. The bag DOES NOT state that!

That would really help me out.
41 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhat are your thoughts on the idea of "paying it forward"?
If you are not clear with the term, basically it's the idea of one good deed deserves another.
Say you stop to help someone with a flat tire on the side of the road. After you help them they ask "how can I repay you?" you tell them to pay it forward, and help the next person they see needs help and tell them to keep the chain going.
22 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoDo you believe religious upbringing is an important part of raising kids?
Why or why not?
I feel I must clarify, but there's only so much space up there.
I'm sure many people will say religious upbringing is important because they're religious. If you could please tell me how and to what degree you would introduce religion to them (example: how often you would attend a place of worship, make sure they say nightly prayers, etc.)
What do you think the child will get out of this experience if you feel this is important? What do you think the child will lack if they were to not have a religious upbringing?
I've never been good with public relations, so I'm sorry if my question comes off as cross or argumentative. I'm just interested in Sociology and cultural matters.
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy are sesame seeds so important?
Think about it. Would you rather have a plain hamburger bun, or one with sesame seeds on it?
Why did you choose what you chose?
3 AnswersOther - Food & Drink1 decade agoWhat element, in your opinion, is most crucial to a great movie?
I know that all of the following are very instrumental, but if you would please humor me.
Picture your favorite movie. Why is it your favorite movie? Is it because of
the visual elements (scenery, costume, etc.)
the auditory elements (background music, SFX, voice tones)
the direction (how it's displayed on screen/ the technique)
the acting
the dialogue
an element I may have forgotten (insert element here)
Feel free to elaborate on why you chose what you did.
Thank you in advance for your answers!
