How come the car companies can guaranty 2.99 a gallon for 3 years if we buy their cars.
i am paying over 4 bucks a gallon right now? how are they able to do this? and how come the government cant do the same thing for everyone driving a car?

contracts. Southwest airlines had just signed into a long term contract when the fuel prices started to rise, so they didn't take the monetary slam the others took which allowed them to weather the storm pretty easily and show a profit.

Because they either A: Have a contract with big oil to take less of a profit, or B: They make so much profit they can afford it: Or C: They are taking a loss to sell some vehicles.

Bush is an oil man. His friends are oil men. Private or public interests haven't constructed any new refineries in a very long time. Any oil private companies do refine are sold elsewhere. We have to buy oil from people who don't like us. The government doesnt care. YOU ARE ALL ON YOUR OWN PEOPLE. THE US GOVERNMENT DOESNT CARE ABOUT YOU OR YOUR FAMILY.
