How do I find out how old a house is?
I've just had an offer accepted on a house (in the UK) and I've been advised that if it's more than about 60 years old, I'll need a full structural survery done, whereas if it's not that old I can save a few hundred pounds by just getting a home buyers survey instead. How do I find out how old it is? Is there a website somewhere that I can look it up?

I would have thought that the estate agents would have been able to check through the land registery or at least your solicitors.
