Why is it that when I visit a Roman Catholic website I always see an image of Mary and not Jesus?

Update:

Maybe not every website but most that I've seen. Example http://www.ewtn.com/

It just goes to show you just how much of a satanic cult the vatican really is.

I have posted page after page of quotes on here that where approved by the vatican showing what the vatican really thinks of Mary. And the catholic's hate it because it proves how little they know of their own religion.

In 2000, there was a pamphlet put out by the vatican and it reflected of just how many catholic's from around the world who still trying to encourage the pope to go ahead and proclaim Mary as "G"od alone or co-Redeemer! It was signed by 60 Cardinals and over 600 Bishops and hundreds of thousands of Monks, Nuns and other people.

I even went as far to challenge catholics' on here to ask their priest about it. Of course, none of them would ask. I emailed the comment to imacatholic2. He wouldn't do it either.

As I have stated on here before, what the American catholics' are told to believe verses what other catholics are told to believe are not necessary the same thing.

Such as? (remember, a lot of Catholic websites are ABOUT Mary)

I'm not sure it's so widespread as you seem to be implying, but I have noticed this, and it got me thinking as to why.

The best I can figure is that it's because of Mass. Mass is the number one most important aspect of the Catholic faith. If you don't go every Sunday, you're in trouble. And, many go even more often than that because they like it so much. Mass is all about Christ. At Mass, you profess belief in Christ, learn about Christ, and receive Christ in the most holy Eucharist.

Not that you need anyone other than Christ, or that Christ is not enough, but it is a natural thing for human beings to desire to "change it up" every now and then. That is to concentrate on something else. The holy trinity is the most important part of the Catholic faith. But, what's the next best thing to Catholics? Mary, of course.

So it's only natural for websites to depict Mary so much because people go to mass so often, and it's all about Jesus.

Also, the month of May, which has just passed, is kind of unofficially "Mary month". So for the past month, you've probably seen a lot of Mary at Catholic sites.

Mary is extremely important to the Christian faith, If Mary had not co-operated with God's plan, Jesus would not have been born. Just as Eve disobeyed God and with Adam brought about the fall of humanity, as the second Eve, Mary obeyed God and with Jesus (the second Adam) brought about the salvation of humanity.

Mary carried the Jesus (the son of God) in her womb for 9 months. She was similar to the Ark of the Covernant in which (the word of God in the form of the ten commandments was carried), but in the case of Mary she carried the actual WORD of God Himself. Mary was the genetic mother of Jesus in His human form and as Jesus was also God, she can rightly be called the Mother of God. The Hebrews revered the Ark of the Covernant as a sacred object, how much more should we revere Mary, the living Ark of the Covernant ?

Jesus agreed to work a miracle at the wedding feast because His Mary asked Him to (even though the time was not right), this shows that requests to Jesus made through the intercession of Mary are likely to be answered because He can refuse her nothing.

So it is entirely right that Catholics regard Mary as very important to the Christian faith. As the mother of Jesus who was God and our brother in the genetic sense, she is rightly regarded as our mother also.

Because in our view she is the "mother" of the Church. She was the first Christian, the vessel that brought Jesus Christ into this world, much like the the church (in our point of view) is what brings Christ into our lives. If you look at some medieval Christian art, you will commonly see Mary holding her dead son, or conforting him as a child, in both instances she embraces Christ like a roof or walls protects people inside the church from the elements or evil, she is a protector. In essence, Mary "is" the Catholic Church. Its an allegory. We dont worship her, we worship the trinaty, But we do have a profound respect for her, and we are rather proud of this. Now this is are view, you dont have to agree, but understand that we dont worship her.

ETWN's home page image changes nearly every day. Check it out over the course of a month.

    Way to generalize.

Enter any Catholic church and tell me Who is front and center. Hint: You'll find Him on that big cross.

Of course, there are people (perhaps some of the same ones who have hopped in here to spew anti-Catholicism) who will also have a problem with THAT.

Do you have a point to make?

I doub't it's "most". Perhaps, because you have a problem with Mary, you tend to notice wedsites with Mary moreso than you do the Catholic websites with Jesus?

Oh! That's because Mary's Feast Day is coming up. If you checked a week back then it would've had Christ. They change it based on Feast Days. =P

I don't believe you will find any Christian website without an image of Jesus. As for the front page, Mary is the bridge between humanity and divinity, as Mother of God, so she is very suitable to welcome new visitors.

I doubt that very seriously. Your question only serves as fuel for anti-Catholic assumptions.

Okay, I'm done...I couldn't find anything in which Mary dominated the scene as your suggest.
