Verizon LG EnV (VX9900) Service Question?

My daugher has this phone. She recently went to a pool party and the moment she arrived, a girl pushed her in the pool. Seems they were doing that to eveyone that arrived. Anyways, she had her phone in her pocket, so it got wet.

I used mild heat acrossed it for 2 days and then powered it up. I came on and works, but the LCD screen is very dim (both inside screen and outside).

Phone is 45 days old. Do you think I can get a replacement or will they know the phone is damaged by water? What are my options?

    Do the steps below:

    (1) IMMEDIATELY REMOVE THE BATTERY. VERY VERY IMPORTANT!

    (2) As soon as possible (preferably within 20-30 minutes). dissassemble the phone using Torx T6 screwdriver. (Get this off eBay or service depots, etc) Make an emergency trip to Sears/RadioShack/ACE/service depot/etc.

    (3) Clean/dry as much as you can, using Q-Tips

    (4) Dry the electronics components under a desk lamp on a paper towel for 24 hours.

    (5) Use a blow dryer, set on warm. Blow dry the phone. Make sure your battery and sim card are out of the phone.

    (6) Reassemble the phone

    (7) Put back together

    (8) Only now it's safe to put the battery back in.

You can also leave the battery and sim out. Leave your phone out in the sun. Let it dry.

Water damage voids warranty. If you have insurance, you can get another phone. Insurance covers water damage. If you do not have insurance, then you just might want to consider getting a used phone or refurbished phone. Two cheap ways of buying a phone. Use that until your upgrade rolls around again.

Most phones have a piece of white special paper near the battery that turns red when it gets wet. You can try to bleach or replace that piece of material and maybe they won't know. Or if you have an accidental warranty they might be able to replace it no matter what.

    Hope that helps. =)
