How do I get over feeling guilty when people do nice things for me?

I will bend over backwards without hesitation to do something nice for my boyfriend, but I always feel guilty when he does something nice for me. I guess it makes me feel bad when he puts forth that kind of effort just on my behalf. How do I get over feeling this way?

you have to stop feeling like you don't deserve it. You do! If you didn't, he wouldn't do it for you

sounds like you could have a low self esteem, which makes it hard to accept nice things from people. You always want to be the one to please right?

I know it can be hard to accept gifts, but it could teach someone to NOT buy things for you ever, and that could lead to you thinking, why am I always the one to by the gifts.

Whether you feel guilty or not when accepting a gift, you need to really try and seem thankful for the thought that went in it, and remember to say WOW thank you sooo much, I love it. If you do that... who knows, maybe one day you will actually like to receive gifts.

*shrug* its best to try and get over that feeling, cause its a negitive one.

    good luck
