Aftercare for rooting and scaling?

I had my procedure done about 2 hours ago(right quadrant) and was told to floss like a mad woman and rinse with salt water. I'm unsure how much salt to put in the water and etc..Also, I'm still totally numb (he shot me like 4 times) ..When would I be able to brush again and should I use my manual toothbrush or my power brush (it's pretty powerful)..I took 2 Tylenols and my top still feels a little tender..I'm guessing I will be numb for at least another 2 hours! Should I rinse with salt water now or wait till my novicane wears off? Thanks!

You can rinse now, its fine. Use about 1 or 2 tsp of salt to 6 oz of warm water. Rinse several times and don't rinse it off. I would take Ibuprophen for dental work personally. Its an antiiflammatory...unless you can't take it.

You can use your power brush. The cleaner you keep the gums, the faster it will heal. Don't floss till tomorrow though and be sure to go under the gum tissue, make "c" shape around each side of the tooth and the backside of the last teeth. Make an up and down motion several times before coming out.

Rinsing will be hard because its hard to pucker when you are numb. Do it over the sink for sure..lol Good luck.
