what does "consider it done" mean?
I sent an email to my prof. asking him to send a support letter for me. and later he emailed me back saying" consider it done". does it mean that he already did it or just means that i could account on him? thanks!

It means he is going to do it.

Your professor means that he will send a support letter. It does not mean that he has already done it, but because you have asked, he will do it.

He probably means that of course he will send the letter for you. And he'll do it soon. So, don't worry about it. Consider it done!

It literally means that you do not have to worry about it because you can think of it as already done, but he is saying that he will do it.

if you say could you put thing in the cupboad then they reply, consider it done then you can consider it as already being done cause they'll do it

It means he will do it quickly - it's as good as done, but not yet done. He will do it though and you can count on him.
