    HSBC is a bank.

Whoever provided you with the credit report should be able to help you identify the accts listed.

If you got your report off line then call a bank or lender and see if they can tell you what they are.

    Good Luck!

p.s. if you have an old bill out there or something in collection call them up and offer them 75% of the remainder to buy it off. Make sure you get a letter stating that they will accept this before you do this and then once it is paid off get a letter stating the balance is zero.

There are number of different things you can do to improve your credit.

    1) If something appears on your report which you don't know about and have no account; you can dispute it (by signed letter) with the credit bureau (Equifax,Transunion, Experian, etc.) showing the account and demand that the bureau remove it.

    2) You need to minimize the amount you owe on each account below 1/2 the maximum credit limit. The lower the better.

    3) You only need 3 credit accounts in order to be recognized by the credit bureaus. Too many open credit accounts will affect your credit report in a negative way.

    4) Pay all your accounts on time.

    5) Don't allow anyone to pull your credit report unless you plan to use their services. Credit inquiries will diminish your credit report. You are entitle to pull your own report without it pulling down your credit score.

    6) Tax liens and Court Attachments will drop your credit score. Take care of these as soon as possible.

    7) You should check your credit report at least twice a year, to make sure your credit has not been affected by someone unknown.

HSBC is a division of Household Bank. At the bottom of the report it should have a "Subscriber Code" which lists the names and addresses and sometimes phone numbers of the creditors listed in the report. Report any inaccuracies with the credit bureaus.
