is dish tv better than direct tv?

For HD no:

Dish: 75 hd channels, latest satellite launched was SCRAPPED due to orbital problems

Directv: 95 hd channes, 150 by September - this new satellite is up and is being positioned in orbit

You can research and verify this info online, but it's true. Dish will not catch up to or probably ever pass Directv for HD.

No one I know with Dish HD is happy due to problems just getting basic HD channels like SciFi HD.

Recently got dish tv and like it.

NO.....we have dish right now and i hate it.....you get a million channels but all of them suck most of them are sales channels like qvc and such...theres like 15 of those channels tons of music channels and crap and it seems like everytime i find something i want to watch on the guide and click to watch it that is not in my package.....we have the second to the top package already and they still hold back so many channels that i want to watch and it is soo frustrating for the extra few channels i would like to watch i have to pay 50 more dollars a month....its rediculous...

I can't stand directv. when you subscribe to the HD service, they force you to get packages you don't want. dish network is better by a million

I don't think any one is better, just depends on your area and what available.

both have local channels, both have DVRs may be just price for different packages

we have Dish Network and love it, we have HD DVR dual tuner and it works great
